Program Description
This session is all about the equestrian sport of gymkhana. Campers will spend mornings and afternoons in the barn learning horseback riding games and patterns. Throughout the session, campers will spend time planning a rodeo to show off their riding skills at the end of the week. Campers will also learn about competition and good sportsmanship. This horse-based camping experience is tailored to intermediate and advanced riders. Campers are ready for this session when they can independently halt and steer at trot and are beginning to canter. Proof of riding ability will be required for this program; acceptable forms of proof include a video showing rider ability, an interview with equestrian staff, or written proof from a riding instructor.
