Program Description

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s progressive leadership program gives campers the skills, experiences, and opportunities to let their leadership shine! Counselor in Training I (CIT I) is the cornerstone of our camp leadership program. This training is a two-week sleepaway experience for Scouts entering 10th and 11th grades. The CIT I camp is an intensive introduction to youth development, counseling, teaching, and leadership skills. In CIT I, participants will learn and practice skills needed to be positive and supportive mentors to younger campers while contributing to an empowering and inclusive community experience. The CIT I camp provides participants with a balance of new knowledge, and theory, and ample opportunities to practice new skills in a supportive, mentoring environment!
