FAQ

Horseback Riding Classes & Placement

During our check-in process, we spend time interviewing and evaluating each camper’s riding skills. Campers are assigned specific time slots based on their individual skill level.

Horse Demonstration

Girls in the Cadette and Senior Equestrian College sessions will participate in a Horse Demonstration for the other girls at camp on June 4 and June 28. If you would like to attend, and pick up your camper early, please let us know at check in. Family friends, grandparents and video cameras are also welcome!

Unit / Cabin Life

Girls will be placed into units based upon ages and sessions. Unit life includes such things as cooking out, kapers, an activity, turtle time and talking with other girls and their counselors. Camp Meriwether’s cabins have air-conditioning and twin-size bunk beds. They sleep 12-16 girls. Each cabin will also have at least two counselors.

Can girls who are not Girl Scouts go to camp?

Yes, all girls are welcome to join the adventure at our camps. You don’t have to be a member of a girl scout troop to sign up for camp and try new things like cooking in the great outdoors or conquering the challenge course. Girl Scouts offers the best leadership development experiences for girls across the world.

What if the pick-up or drop-off times do not work for us?

Scheduled drop off and pick up times are listed in your ‘What to Expect Packet’. If you need to arrive later than the scheduled drop off time, contact the camp director 1 week prior to the start of the camp session. Campers cannot arrive early before the drop off time because camp staff are getting ready for the session. If you need to pick up your camper early, before the pick up time, let the camp director know when you drop her off. There are no late pick up options.
