Day Camps

Grades K-9

Get ready for fun, adventure and building new skills at Camp Timber Ridge. A five-day experience for campers entering grades K-9. This all-girls day camp gives campers the opportunity to unplug and offers enriching activities, leadership development, STEM education, and more.

Camp Timber Ridge is a place your daughter can relax, have fun, and enjoy the moments of camp away from television, computer, cell phone and other distractions of the average child’s life. Camp Timber Ridge staff strive to fulfill their mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character by increasing self-confidence, enhancing team building, improving cooperation and communication skills, taking responsibility and a “I can do that!” attitude.

Sleepaway Camps

Grades 2-12

Looking for an all-girls overnight summer camp experience? Our overnight camp promotes independence and provides girls with an opportunity to build self-esteem. Girls entering grades 2-12 will enjoy their time making new friends, lasting memories, and developing new skills.

Camp Meriwether

At Camp Meriwether, we nurture confidence, build character, and encourage girls to exercise courage. We believe that our campers will grow into young women who possess leadership skills that will impact their communities and their world! Campers will have the opportunity to ride horses, explore drama and the arts, experience challenge activities, swim, canoe and try out archery.

Your camper can explore horseback riding, shoot a bullseye in archery, or make the perfect s’more over the fire alongside a new friend. And YOU can dream about what she’s REALLY doing at camp... which is learning skills, exploring ideas and discovering more about themselves and the world around them.

Our Camp Options

Classic Camps

Grades K-12

Classic Camp means days filled with all the best parts of summer camp! Girls coming for the first time and those who come back year after year will find a home away from home. Friends and caring staff members become family who encourage campers to grow. Girls in Classic Camp develop independence and confidence, learn smart risk-taking, and live and work cooperatively with girls and counselors!

Classic with Ponies

Camp Meriwether and Misty Mountain

Classic Camp with Ponies is available to all riders from beginner to advanced. Spend 2.5 hours per day with the horses and ponies. Learn to ride and care for your horse. Riding skills will be assessed by staff.

Mini-Camp

Camp Misty Mountain

Mini campers get a taste of all of the programs and excitement that sleepaway camp has to offer. Mini-camp allows you to enjoy sleepaway camp for just 2-3 nights.

Specialty Camps

Grades K-12

Specialty Camps allow girls to focus on specific interests while still experiencing all the adventure that camp has to offer. Each one is tailored to specific grade levels. Different specialty camps are offered by each location and on a variety of dates.

Pony Pals

Camp Misty Mountain

Let’s ride! We’re hanging out with our favorite, super sweet horses. This summer is all about learning how to ride, groom, and feed our ponies. *No previous horseback riding experience required.

Equestrian College

Camp Meriwether

When you love horseback riding as much as we do, why would you ever want to do anything else? We’re discovering what it’s like to have a real equestrian career. This program is designed for girls who have experience riding comfortably at the canter.

Leadership

Grades 6-12

Get ready to develop character-defining leadership skills and become a mentor to younger girls! Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program is a three-level, progressive residential training program at GSGATL’s renowned summer programs. CITs work closely with camp staff to gain an understanding of camp operations and learn how to plan and lead activities. At the end of the training, CITs will receive a certificate.

Counselor-in-Training

Grades 9-10

In CIT I, participants will learn and practice skills needed to be a positive and supportive mentor to younger girls, while contributing to an empowering and inclusive community experience.

Counselor-In-Training II

Grades 10-12

CIT II is the natural progression for those who have been successful in the CIT I experience. The CIT II level adds knowledge and practical experience in areas of team dynamics, leadership and followership.

Counselor Intern

Grades 11-12

The Counselor Intern level allows the participant who has successfully completed CIT I and CIT II to continue developing her skills and gaining experience in leadership.

Wrangler-In-Training

Grades 10-12

During this 2-week session, we'll fine-tune our riding skills, grooming, feeding, and overall barn management skills. We’ll also have a chance to complete the counselor in training program requirements.

Shoot for the Gold

Grades 9-12

Let’s go for the gold! Get a jump start on your Gold Award project. We’ll spend a week discovering more about the award process, completing the beginning requirements, and finishing a Journey.
